You pay once for the full order total in your basket. We do not charge a deposit now and invoice you for the rest later. We buy your card in Japan once batch progress reaches 100% on your orders page. For cards £100 or less, we cover price increases up to 10% (capped at £10 per card). For cards over £100, we will contact you before buying if our sourcing costs rise.

Can I pay by credit card or instalments?

Yes. If Stripe offers it at checkout, you can use credit cards, debit cards, or Apple Pay. We do not run our own installment or deposit plans. Any pay-in-three or buy-now-pay-later options depend entirely on what Stripe or your card provider offers for that single transaction.

We combine shipping costs across all paid orders to keep prices low. Once the batch hits 100% progress, we begin buying the cards in Japan. We wait until all cards in the batch arrive at our Japan partner, then ship them to the UK together in one parcel. This keeps the final delivery cost much lower than shipping individual packages.

How long can I join a batch after it reaches 100%?

When the batch hits 100% on your orders page, a one-week join window starts. New paid orders can still join until 6pm UK on the final day, then the batch closes and a fresh batch opens. Below 100%, there is no time limit; the window only starts once the shared shipment pool is full.

What if I paid but the batch has not reached 100% yet?

Your order is locked in and remains in the current open batch. You will not have to pay anything extra for this item. We only start buying cards in Japan after the batch hits 100% on your orders page. Until then, your order stays in a paid, waiting status while other collectors join the batch and the percentage climbs. You can track progress and your order status on your orders page when you sign in. If you have questions about the progress, email us at help@iskurajp.co.uk and we will give you an update.

What happens if the Japan market price moves after I pay?

For cards £100 or less, we cover price increases up to 10% (up to £10 per card) before we buy in Japan. For cards over £100, we will email you if the cost rises. If the exchange rate moves by more than 3% from your checkout snapshot, we will contact you in either case. You can hold the order for a single re-check when the batch fills, pay the difference, or cancel for a full refund. If you cancel, you can choose to get a one-time email alert if our listed price drops back to what you paid, though this does not reserve stock. If you put the order on hold, we will check the market again once the batch hits 100%. For cards £100 or less, we will proceed if the price is within the 10% buffer. What does optional insurance cover?

This covers your card against loss or damage from the moment it reaches our partner in Japan until it is delivered to your UK address. It does not cover sourcing issues, price increases, or cancellations after we buy the card.

Sourced on demand through our Japan partner, with no UK warehouse stock. We source every card on demand through our Japan partner after you check out and the batch reaches 100% progress.

How do NM and LP differ?

Near Mint (NM) is best for collectors who want clean card faces and edges. Lightly Played (LP) cards show light wear but cost less. We source your cards to match the specific condition tier you select at checkout.

What are Vault Shards?

You earn one Vault Shard for every £1 you spend on cards, excluding postage and insurance. Redeem 300 Vault Shards to get £10 off cards on a future order, requiring a minimum £20 card subtotal and one redemption per checkout. No. We run a UK shop with a selected catalogue. We handle condition grading, batch shipping, secure checkout through Stripe, order tracking, and optional shipping insurance. We do not use a generic request form where you have to buy everything yourself.

Can I request a card that is not in your catalogue?

Yes. Go to card requests in your account or click the request link in the footer. Upload a clear photo and add the card code if you have it. We will check availability in Japan and email you a price quote. Until you start checkout, the price on your request page may move with the market or our pricing for that card.

How buying works

Shared batch fills
Each confirmed order adds to shared international shipping progress until the batch hits 100%. After that, new orders stay open for one week (closing at 6pm UK on the final day) before the next batch opens.
Sourcing and dispatch
After the batch reaches 100%, we source in Japan through our Japan partner, consolidate to the UK, then dispatch via your Royal Mail tier when fulfilment is ready.

NM vs LP condition tiers

Every card is listed in Near Mint (NM) or Lightly Played (LP). Choose the tier that matches how you collect, as prices differ by tier on each card page.

How card prices are calculated

Each listed price is based on live Japan market data for your NM or LP tier, typically calculated as a rolling average of recent listings, then converted to GBP with a small exchange rate buffer. Some cards use a fixed price we set directly instead.

Checkout shows the total for your chosen tier before you pay. Optional insurance and UK postage are covered in the sections below.

Market price protection (checkout £100 cap)

After you pay, we lock in the Japan market price, fees, and exchange rate. Before we buy your card in Japan, we check the market again. For orders at £100 or below, we cover price increases up to 10% (up to £10 per card) to keep your checkout price the same. For orders above £100, we do not cover increases, so we will contact you if the price goes up. We also contact you if the exchange rate moves by more than 3% from your checkout snapshot. You can then choose to put the order on hold for a re-check when the batch fills, pay the difference, or cancel for a refund. If you cancel, you can choose to get a one-time email if our listed price drops back to what you paid, though this does not reserve stock. If you choose to hold, we will re-check the price once when the batch first hits 100% on your orders page, rather than while it is still filling. For cards £100 or less, if the market is within the 10% buffer, your order resumes at your checkout price. For cards over £100, it resumes only if the sourcing costs did not rise. We never charge you more without your consent.

Shared batch shipping

Each card is sourced individually in Japan. Once every card has reached our Japan partner, they ship together in one parcel to the UK. Your order joins one open batch with other collectors; batch fill shows as a percentage only on your orders page until it hits 100%.

Once progress reaches 100%, cards are purchased in Japan, consolidated into one international parcel, and prepared for UK dispatch. Track fill and status anytime on your orders after sign-in.

Optional per-card insurance

At checkout you can add insurance per card (default 5% of that line's retail price).This covers your card against loss or damage from the moment it reaches our partner in Japan until it is delivered to your UK address.

Insurance does not replace overrun decisions, sourcing failure flows, or our no-refund policy after a card has been purchased in Japan.
